Vessel Pre-Charter Assessment
There is a significant financial risk if you charter a vessel without a detailed inspection. Kensa ensures that the data required by clients is thoroughly checked and the risk of financial loss is further mitigated before the charter contract is executed.
Through a physical survey, we advise our clients on the general condition of the vessel and maintenance regime in place as well as any anticipated problem areas, before entering into a transaction.
A physical survey of a vessel prior to undertaking a particular voyage is critical to ensure that all critical areas of the vessel intended to maintain the cargo carried are in good condition, to reduce the risk of claims for damages due to damaged cargo or the risk that the voyage will not be undertaken in accordance with the terms of the charter party.
Kensa ensures that each eligible vessel undergoes a thorough risk assessment and review to determine its relative safety for a particular voyage.
The area of inspection includes but not limited to:
- Hull & Machinery Condition.
- Compliances to local & international standards, and regulations.
- Emergency Equipment Condition
- Crew Competencies and Training
- Accidents & Incidents Records
- Recommendations
