Drydock Project Management
Drydock projects, both interim and special investigations, must be managed effectively to protect the interests of shipowners, bareboat charterers and investors (financiers and banks).
Drydocking involves taking a vessel to the service yard and bringing it ashore so that the submerged parts of the hull can be cleaned and inspected. This work is for both prevention and compliance in the industry. Vessels are drydocked once every 5 years, while vessels older than 15 years are drydocked once every 3 years.
Drydocking allows for risk mitigation, cost savings and alternative options, but only when done by experts like Kensa. The entire ship is dry-docked and then the submerged part of the ship that has been in the water for years is checked, maintained and inspected. This method of ship dry-docking involves objective identification. Allocation of shareholders, a comprehensive description and completion of the project are the key processes for identifying the target.
Kensa provides cost effective ship dry dock project management services to our clients. We have extensive experience in managing ship drydocking projects specifically in the Asia-Pacific region shipyards where project execution is comparatively more complex. Our services result in significant cost savings for ship owners and banks as we complete the projects on time within the planned budget without compromising the quality and safety of the vessel.
